Weekend in Fort Worth, Texas

I intend to find more creative outlets in 2023.   For the past couple of years, I've been feeling the loving nudge of my Nanny encouraging me to do more artistic things.  I only knew her for 8 years, but I remember that she constantly encouraged me to be creative...she bought me a spirograph, a pottery wheel, a fashion design kit for children.   I suppose I still carry that encouragement with me to this day.

In the past, I've expressed myself through writing, painting and photography, but once I got my career rolling, I haven't found (or taken) the time to explore any of those outlets further. Well, this past weekend I got the opportunity to take photographs of Fort Worth, Texas.  I even took my fancy digital camera. Sadly, I never even got it out of the bag.  (I know, I don't know what's wrong with me...)

I did, however, take some with my iPhone.  I played with angles a little and I think they turned out pretty great.  Below are a few...

Magnolia Moment - Introduction

For the past few years, I've been looking for a creative outlet.  My chosen career only has limited creative aspects.  I have always had a bit of an artistic soul, though.  I've been depriving my creative self, so I decided to blog.  I used to write a lot -- mainly short stories, but occasionally journalistic type pieces.

I intend to write about several aspects of my life here.  The idea is to step back from the rut of life and express myself...however I deem fit for that blog post.  I am auditing my life this year, so I will post some about that.  I am also reading for pleasure more so I may critique some books here.  I may even write some short stories and poetry, who knows.  However I express myself, I hope to entertain and be a positive influence on others.

Magnolia, Texas

I named this blog "Magnolia Moment" because back in March/April of 1997, I went to a wedding outside of Magnolia, Texas.  As I was pulling into town, I had a sudden sense of happiness. From then on, those moments were "Magnolia Moments". I haven't had one in quite some time. I generally feel blessed in my life, but true happiness has been rare in the last few years.   I'll be working to change that in 2023.
